This is a small brass belt buckle with the inscription Eendragt Maakt Magt the official motto of the Zuid Afrikaansche Republiek (ZAR). The ZAR letters being the centre feature of this buckle. This is an extraordinarily scarce German made buckle made for use by the Boers. It is believed it was part of the white webbing used for the ZAR Voetpolisie, which was ordered in 1897 98 of which almost none was delivered
