This patch was first worn by the United States Airborne Glider School then worn later by the 79th Troop Carrier Squadron of the IX Troop Carrier Command. The 79th was a unit that carried the glider troops into Normandy on D Day, June 6, 1944. Patch is 100% cotton embroidery and passes both the UV and burn tests. It measures 5 1 4" wide x 3 1 2" high. Offered in excellent condition.
