the New York Rangers ventured yesterday into a place that for 54 years they could only dream about: lower Broadway's Canyon of Heroes

A trio of lemon meringue pies (two quarters only) sit inside vending windows at the Horn and Hardart Automat at Third Avenue and 42nd in New York

but they are being joined by many skyscrapers that may someday be worthy of appearing in a Times Square souvenir snow globe

Lincoln at Antietam Framed or Unframed:Unframed the New York Rangers venturedPresident Abraham Lincoln, between Maj. Allan Pinkerton of the Pinkerton National Detective Agency and Gen. John A. McClernand, visits the Union camp at Sharpsburg, Md., on Oct. 3, 1862, a few weeks after the Battle of Antietam. Lincoln was there to persuade Gen. George McClellan to take his army on the attack against Gen. Robert E. Lee. Pinkerton was Lincoln's bodyguard.
