Here we have a set of two cut down bayonets for use with the WWI Italian Vetterli M1870 87 15 rifle, in 6. 5mm Carcano caliber. Both have had the hooked quillon removed and the blade reduced in length from the original 20 1 4" to approximately 9 1 2", to give about the same reach as an M1891 Carcano rifle. This also made the bayonet much more useful as a hand held weapon. Both come complete with their
