Description

the Coldstream served the Crown for four fewer years than the Grenadiers (the Grenadiers having formed as a Royalist regiment in exile in 1656 and the Coldstream having sworn allegiance to the Crown upon the Restoration in 1660)

It retains most of the original fire gilding especially in the edges and recesses

The hardwood case is of exceptionally fine quality with veneer finish with full brass trim around every edge and corners

An exceptionally rare variation (1st Model) of a much sought after US Naval Bayonet issued in the 1880s
