It is based on the Civil War era Model 1851 Regulation belt buckle, but is silver washed with a pair of enamel flags attached to the front. This was likely custom made by an officer who wanted to carry some of his ancestors experiences with him. The buckle measures roughly 2 x 3 and has a custom catch and loop bar. One of the
