Thiart Wines, The Pope's New Crib, Grenache Noir, South Africa, 750ml Bordeaux Made from Greening applesIn 1309 the Pope moved the seat of the Roman Catholic church from Rome to Avignon, from where the next 7 Popes ruled before returning to Rome in 1378. Of the many varieties planted in the region; Grenache noir is one of the best known. This wine is one of our expressions of that variety. Light to medium bodied, fruit forward wine. Can be enjoyed slightly chilled for those hotter than average South African summer days.
